Immediate payment is required for Winter Term registration or you will be canceled for non-payment and blocked from future registration. Click here for more information.

Although you are permitted to register up through January 4, 2013, some instructors may determine that you have missed too much of the class and require that you drop. It is advised that you register no later than January 2, 2013.

16 Winter Term admissions application for non-University of Maryland students may be submitted online, via fax, mail, or in person. If you are seeking re-enrollment, please click here.
23 Winter Term registration begins online, via fax, via mail, or in person.
December 2012
15 Deadline to submit Winter Term Admissions Application via mail, fax or in-person.
  Deadline to submit Course Registration form via mail.
30 Deadline to submit Winter Term Admissions Application online.
Winter Break December 24, 2012, through January 1, 2013 (University Closed)
January 2013
1 Deadline to cancel registration with 100% refund.
2 First day of Winter Term, University opens.
  Deadline for submitting documentation for classification as a Maryland resident for tuition and fee purposes.
4 Last day for Schedule Adjustment, 4:30 p.m.
  • Please note: Due to the compressed nature of Winter Term, some instructors may determine that you have missed too much of the class and require that you drop. It is advised that you register no later than January 2.
  Last day to register and pay for a course via e-mail, fax, or in person.
  Last day to withdraw from all courses with a 50% refund.
  Last day to drop a single course with a 50% refund (applicable to students who remain registered for at least one course, no refund for dropping a single course after this date).
  Last day for undergraduates to drop a single course without a “W.”
  Last day for undergraduates to change credit level or grading method.
  Last day for undergraduate and graduate students to change section without departmental approval.
7 Last day of waitlist check-in.
14 Last day for undergraduates to drop a single course with a “W.”
  Last day for graduate students to drop a course.
  Last day for graduate students to change credit level and grading method without departmental approval.
  Last day for undergraduate and graduate students to change section with departmental approval.
21 No classes—University closed for Martin Luther King holiday.
22 Winter Term ends.
  Last day to withdraw from all courses with no refund, by 4:30 p.m.
23 On or after this date, all changes to a student's Winter Term registration will be assessed a $100.00 Record Adjustment fee. This includes all requests for registration and/or withdrawal.
