Last Day to Register: January 4, 2013
Although you are permitted to register up through January 4, 2013, due to the compressed nature of Winter Term, some instructors may determine that you have missed too much of the class and require that you drop. It is advised that you register no later than January 2.
Online Registration Instructions
Winter Term registration requires that you are attending the University of Maryland in fall 2012 or have accepted spring 2013 admission. If not, then you are not a current student and you must apply.
Please note: Online registration will be unavailable on Friday, December 28, 2012.
- Visit MyUM.
- Log in with your Directory ID and password.
- Click on Academics & Testudo.
- Under Registration Time & Blocks, select your registration term.
- Click on Take Me to Registration Drop/Add.
- Enter the course and section number(s) into the Drop/Add table and hit ENTER.
- Messages regarding the course you are adding may appear above or below the registration block after you hit enter. Read the message then hit ENTER again to add the course.
- When finished with registration, hit Sign Off.
- Enter and submit the information on the Payment Calculation Page. Registration is not complete unless payment is submitted.

Waitlist & Waitlist Check-in
Please note: Waitlist Check-in will be unavailable on Friday, December 28, 2012.
- Visit MyUM.
- Log in with your Directory ID and password
- Click on Academics & Testudo.
- Under Registration Time & Blocks, choose the registration term.
- Click on Take Me to Registration Drop/Add.
- Enter the course and section number(s) into the Drop/Add table and hit ENTER.
- You must enter the appropriate section number you would like to waitlist, otherwise you will be shown other sections that are still open, or none at all if it is the only section offered for the term.
- The next screen will confirm that the course is full. Select the section and hit RETURN SECTIONS.
- Process daily waitlist check-in beginning on the first day of classes at MyUM. Click on Academics & Testudo and follow the waitlist check-in link.
If one day is missed you will be dropped from the waitlist and must start over.
The move from waitlist status to enrolled status is an automatic enrollment transaction if a seat becomes available. Students, however, must check their waitlist status daily during the schedule adjustment period. If you fail to check in, you will lose your waitlist status.
University of Maryland Non-Photo ID
Visiting students:
- If registered before December 15: Winter Term non-photo ID will be mailed to your permanent mailing address.
- If registered after December 15: Pick up your non-photo ID at Customer Services, 1st Floor Mitchell Building, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Update Your Contact Information
The University of Maryland uses the e-mail on your student record for all correspondences regarding your Winter Term registration. The University assumes no responsibility for the delivery of these electronic messages. It is the student’s responsibility to maintain current contact information. Follow these steps to update your contact information:
- Web site: MyUM
- Log in using your directory ID/password
- Click on your e-mail address
- Your contact information will be displayed and available for updating.
