* Please note: Notwithstanding any other provision of this or any other University publication, the University reserves the right to make changes in tuition, fees, and other charges at any time such changes are deemed necessary by the University and the University System of Maryland Board of Regents. Although changes in tuition, fees, and charges ordinarily will be announced in advance, the University reserves the right to make such changes without prior announcement.
University Mandatory Student Services Fee
In addition to tuition, undergraduate and graduate students are charged a Mandatory Student Services Fee at either the on-campus or the off-campus rate.

| The on-campus rate pays for student support services including campus facilities use and maintenance, health services, campus-wide technology services, student registration services, recreation center, shuttle bus, libraries, police, computer labs, writing language labs, and disability support services. The on-campus rate is charged for any course registration which requires students to come to campus, even if only for one class meeting. The on-campus fee is assessed one time for courses taken within each of the two six-week summer sessions. (Sessions I and I-A or I-B combined, or Sessions II and II-C or II-D combined). | |
| Off-campus Rate: Undergraduate, Graduate, & Non-Credit Workshop Students | $90.00 per session |
| The off-campus rate pays for student support services that include campus-wide technology services and student registration services. The off-campus rate is charged for any course registration which does not require students to come to campus (e.g., internships, courses offered completely online). In addition, this fee applies to students who enroll in a non-credit workshop. The off-campus fee is assessed one time for courses taken within each of the two six-week sessions (Sessions I and I-A or I-B combined, or Sessions II and II-C or II-D combined). | |
| Shady Grove | $235.00 per session |
| The Shady Grove Student Services Fee applies to students enrolled in a Shady Grove course (section code 01Zx or 02Zx). The student services fee pays for summer support services at the Shady Grove location that includes campus facilities use and maintenance, health services, campus-wide technology services, student registration services, recreation center, shuttle bus, libraries, police, computer labs, writing language labs, and disability support services. This fee is to be applied once per summer term regardless of how many courses/credits are taken. If students are enrolled in these sections only, they are not assessed the College Park campus’ student services fees. If students are enrolled in College Park campus sections in addition to these sections, then both sets of student services fees will be assessed. | |
Materials/Lab/Special Course Fee
Some departments charge an additional fee for specific classes, such as those with science or computer labs, photography labs, art supplies, or similar costs. Courses with special or additional fees should be noted in the Online Schedule of Classes.

Record Adjustment Fee
$100.00
For all adjustments to your student record that are received after the end of a specific Summer Term session in which you are registered.
Determination of Residency Status for Admission and Tuition
Residency determinations are made according to the Board of Regents Policy on Student Residency Classification.

Property Damage Charges: Students will be charged for damage to property or equipment. Where responsibility for the damage can be fixed, the individual student will be billed for it; where responsibility cannot be fixed, the cost of repairing the damage will be pro-rated among the individuals involved.

ProQuest - Thesis/Dissertation Submission fee: A $70 fee is charged to when students submit their Thesis/Dissertation through ProQuest. This charge may be applied after the Summer Term has ended.
