The Executive Master of Public Health (EMPH) in Public Health Practice and Policy provides working professionals with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to assume leadership roles in addressing important public health policy, practice and management issues facing the United States and the world today and in the future. The program resides in the Department of Health Services Administration in the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland.

The Executive MPH includes a) basic core principles of public health (5 courses, 15 credits), b) public health management course (5 courses, 12 credits) and c) public health policy and practice courses (5 courses, 15 credits), for a total of 42 credits (15 courses).
The Executive MPH will enable you to build a platform of professional network support, which will benefit you throughout your career. Intensive leadership training begins immediately on the first day of the program and is woven throughout other courses. The internship provides an opportunity to apply previously acquired knowledge and skills in a health or allied health organization. The capstone project enables you to integrate your entire course learning in a final project.
Instruction is delivered in a blended learning format with stimulating on-line courses supplemented by six weekends of residency. These residency weekends provide an opportunity to integrate online learning with leadership driven practice. Residency sessions are delivered at the Universities at Shady Grove, 9630 Gudelsky Drive, Rockville, MD 20850. There is ample free parking on campus.
Instruction is provided by University of Maryland School of Public Health faculty and experts from prominent public health organizations. The program can be completed in as little as 18 months while minimally disrupting personal and professional life.
