In Freshmen First, you’ll get a glimpse of all that the University of Maryland has to offer before the rest of the crowd. You’ll work with creative faculty and experience many of the sites that make Maryland unique. And, since the University is located just nine miles from the Washington, D.C., Freshmen First offers activities that take advantage of our proximity to the rich cultural resources of our nation’s capital.

This is a great program. Our son was coming from out of state and this program did three things for him:

Taught him about independent living;

Structure of college courses; and

Helped to meet friends on a smaller basis.
