Students’ advising home for the fall 2013 semester is the Office of Extended Studies. Freshmen Connection advisors are available throughout the fall semester to answer questions in-person by e-mail or over the phone.
In August, Freshmen Connection advisors activate an Advising Listserv which is used to disseminate important information concerning academic deadlines and procedures. Students are responsible for reading all Listserv messages and contacting the Freshmen Connection advisors if they have any questions.
The FC Advising Listserv is sent to students’ official E-mail of Record with the University (the official E-mail of Record is listed in the upper right-hand corner of the MyUM welcome screen).

Her BA in communication was earned at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Anne completed her master’s in community planning at UMD and volunteers with neighborhood revitalization activities in her free time.
Brittney Nathaniel, Freshmen Connection advisor and program coordinator, has worked with a wide array of students in her career, ranging from adult learners at the University of Maryland University College to Freshmen Connection students at the University of Maryland College Park.
