Courses in Freshmen First offer students a smaller class setting such that your first choice could already be full when you register. Approach course selection with an open mind and know that all of the courses and instructors are exceptional. Please note a first, second, and third choice on your registration form.

The academic portion of the program was outstanding. The readings, papers and exams were appropriate in difficulty and purpose. They were challenging but not overwhelming. Our daughter did well academically, learned to adjust to dorm situations, and actually did her laundry! Thank you for a well-executed program. The true test for which is that our daughter is saying that she would like to work with the new freshmen next summer. FF parent

Our daughter really matured through the experience. She has made quite a few great connections with people and it has proven to be a benefit as she has now moved into her dorm for the fall. She also had the opportunity to earn college credit before officially starting and did very well in the class she attended. This has added to her confidence. This is very comforting to us, seeing her begin this new journey with not only the academic experience she has gained but also the social experience. I hope the Freshmen First Program can continue to be offered to entering students. Thank You. FF parent

Excellent introduction to college life. All freshmen would benefit from this program. It allowed my son to attain a comfort level that is not always attainable on a large campus like the University of Maryland. FF parent
